Blueberry Picking

A few weeks ago we went blueberry picking and picked a gallon of delicious blueberries.  We went blueberry picking two years ago but it was a bit far and the place wasn't great since it had some poison ivy and to top it off Thomas saw a huge snake shortly after we got there.  This year I heard how there was blueberry picking right here in Forsyth County so I thought it would be fun to give it a try.  Both Julia and Andrew love blueberries along with Thomas and me.  It's actually right next to where we picked strawberries and it worked out great.

Julia was the best blueberry picker this year! The bushes were low to the ground so they were perfect picking height for her.

Daddy and Julia finding some perfect blueberries.

Julia decided to try a few since they aren't sprayed with any chemicals.  Before she popped one in her mouth she would say 'just one more.'

Look at all the great blueberries!

Andrew hung out in the stroller and watched us work and of course Julia gave him some blueberries to eat too.

It was a successful blueberry picking trip so it looks like we'll be going back next year!  We love freshly picked fruit.

  1. What a coincidence that you blogged about blueberries today. Yesterday Bill and I were going to go and try it ourselves. But in the end we decided to buy them at the store. Julia will have to teach Nana and Grandpa all about blueberry picking. I have already made 4 blueberry pies this season, I actually think I might like them more than apple pies.
