Disney World - Day 6...Magic Kingdom

It's our last day at Disney and we're heading back to Magic Kingdom since there is so much for the kids to enjoy there.  Today we decided to ride the bus since it drops you off right at the entrance to the park. The kids really enjoyed riding the bus.  This was Andrew's first time on a bus but Julia has been on one before when I took her to New York City when she was little but obviously she doesn't remember it.

The double stroller was a big hit with Julia and Andrew.

Another photo in front of the castle.

Today we spent a bit of time meeting some of Julia's favorite characters from the Disney movies she enjoys the most. First we met Rosetta the fairy from Tinker Bell.  We got Julia an autograph book so she could get autographs from her favorites.

Tinker Bell

Then we headed over to see some storybook princess and got to see Rapunzel, Aurora and Cinderella.  so excited to see Cinderella again!

Princess Aurora

Julia's favorite princess ever, Cinderella!

The princesses all paid attention to Andrew too!  He wanted to be held but you can tell he enjoyed it by his smile.

Had to be sure to meet Mickey Mouse too.  After all he's what Disney is all about.

Andrew even liked meeting Mickey Mouse.

The Walt Disney World Railroad.  Disney parks are huge so you can hop on this and it takes you to another part of the park.  Had to ride the train since Andrew loves choo choo trains.

Being very serious on the train.

Andrew was so exhausted that he feel asleep as we were in line for Dumbo.  We weren't even waiting long since we had a fast pass but he was wiped out.

Mommy and Julia on Dumbo...such a classic ride.  Daddy and Andrew rode together and Andrew slept through the ride.

We headed back to our room for a tiny bit and came back in time for Julia's surprise...a visit to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique to get transformed into a true princess.

The Boutique is located in Cinderella's castle...probably where Cinderella gets ready.  It was very cute to see all the girls getting a makeover complete with hair, nails and make-up.

Julia's fairy godmother in training was Hannah.  It was such a fun experience for Julia and for Mommy and Daddy too!  Love all the different expressions on her face as she's getting her hair done.

Picking out the make-up colors she wanted.

Lipstick too.

Need to let the nails dry.

Getting sparkles in her hair which makes the transformation complete.

Every princess needs a sash too.

Julia loved the gem on the cheek.

Our very own princess Julia. She also got a little backpack to hold her make-up and her nail polish.  So glad she was able to do this make-over.  It was her second most favorite part of the trip right behind getting to meet Cinderella of course.

Daddy and Julia having fun on the Buzz Light Year ride.  Andrew and I had a blast on this ride too!

Had to get a family photo with Princess Julia.

It was starting to get late and Andrew was pretty much done. I really wanted to stay and see the Electrical Parade again and Julia was up for that too.  Daddy and Andrew headed back to the room while Julia and I stayed to watch it again. This time we had much better seats.  After all it is probably the best parade at Disney.  First up Tinker Bell.

Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse.

Cinderella in her carriage.

Prince Charming with the glass slipper.

Peter Pan and Captain Hook.

The seven dwarfs.

Pete the Magic Dragon.

And a float to honor our country.

When I went to wash Julia's hair days later it stayed up even after I took out all the clips and pins.  They use so much gel that I washed it three times.

She loved having her hair done but she said she was glad to have her hair back after bath.

We had the very best time at Disney World and everything worked out great.  Of course there were a few glitches but nothing big.  It was such a fantastic trip and one we'll always remember.  I'm so glad we were able to provide these memories for Julia and Andrew (probably just Julia since he's not going to remember) since I have incredible memories of going to Disney World as a child.  Thankful everyone was healthy to enjoy Disney to the fullest especially since Andrew had strep throat the week prior and we've had lots of struggles with Julia's asthma and allergies in the last year.  Hopefully we'll make another short trip back before Andrew turns three since you don't have to pay for kids until then.  A vacation filled with lots of magical moments to last a lifetime with a great family...who could ask for more?  Dreams really do come true at Disney...'the happiest place on earth.'

  1. Love all the pictures, esp. Julia's makeover. You can tell how much the kids loved Disney and I think their parents had a good time as well. :)
