Disney World - Day 4...Animal Kingdom

All ready to visit Animal Kingdom!  It was much less of a production to get into Animal Kingdom than Magic Kingdom on Monday.  We decided to drive ourselves and once we parked our car we hopped on a tram which dropped you off at the entrance.  For those who have never been to Disney before the parking lots are huge as you can imagine that they have a tram that picks you up in the parking lot and drives you to the entrance.  So nice!

Let the animal fun begin!  Animal Kingdom is actually the largest of the four parks in Disney World.

The tree of life.  The artificial tree that has 325 animals sculpted into the trunk and roots.

Our first stop in Animal Kingdom was Kilimanjaro Safari to see all the animals.

Our vehicle for our ride through the safari.

We saw lots of animals...rhinos.

Tons of hippos all staying cool in the water.

Heaps of alligators snoozing.

This giraffe came so close to us that Thomas could have reached out and touched it.

Lots of elephants too.

Julia liked the flamingos because they're pink.

A beautiful waterfall once we got off the safari ride.

The Festival of the Lion King show.  Julia enjoyed the show but Andrew wasn't much into sitting still he just wanted to walk around.

Next up on our agenda was to meet some Disney favorites.  First meeting with Minnie Mouse in her safari clothes.  Julia loves Minnie.

Family photo with Minnie.  Julia loves it and Andrew is wondering what's going on but at least he didn't cry.

A big hug for Donald Duck.  Julia thought it was kinda funny that my dad's name is Donald.  She said just like Donald Duck.  So wish he could have met Julia and Andrew.

Family photo with Donald Duck.

After we met some characters we enjoyed a Disney treat as a snack.  Anything Mickey Mouse taste better, right?

Andrew loved the Mickey treat too!  He ate the ears.

Not too messy.

We went back to our resort to rest a little and then got back in time for the parade.

Everything about Disney parades is awesome.  They really do a great job and everyone in the parade is so enthusiastic and excited.

Excited about seeing something but I can't quite remember what it was.

Look who came up and said hello to Julia.  He actually gave her a hug and a kiss too.

Donald Duck.

Pluto had some great moves too!

Mickey Mouse dressed in his safari clothes.

Having fun walking around the parks.  He's even wearing his pin trading necklace.  Before we left I got both Julia and Andrew a pin trading necklace.  Many of the workers have a necklace and you can trade pins with them.  Julia traded a few times and got a great Minnie Mouse pin and a Tinker Bell pin and then I got her a Cinderella pin since that's her favorite Disney character.  Andrew ended up getting a great Mickey Mouse pin since he loves his Mickey Mouse.

After we went on some rides and saw the Finding Nemo show we went to Downtown Disney for dinner.  After dinner the kids enjoyed dancing while the guys behind Julia played some music.

Andrew even got into the dancing and running around.

Such fun times and ready for another relaxing day by the pool tomorrow.
