Apple Picking 2011

This past Sunday we continued our fall tradition of going apple picking up in the North Georgia Mountains. It was a nice fall day and we enjoyed the drive up there with many trees full of beautiful colors. Going apple picking is definitely one of my favorite things to do in the fall. This year we went a bit late in the season so we didn't get to pick a variety of apples so next year we'll be sure to go in September. This was Julia's third time going apple picking and of course Andrew's first time. We always have to stop for a family photo with the beautiful mountains in the background. Apple picking is something we'll be sure to do each year.

Since we went at the end of the season the apple were higher up on the trees so Daddy got a great workout lifting Julia up to pick some apples.

Julia loved that she picked our first apple.

One of the best parts of apple picking is eating an apple in the orchards while picking and Julia did just that. This year, just like last year, she munched on a Rome Beauty as we made our way through the apple orchards.

An apple tree filled with Rome Beauty apples. I love going apple picking but I wish we could pick McIntosh apples since those are my favorite but unfortunately they don't grow down here in Georgia.

Andrew is loving life as he's carried around in the Baby Bjorn which I'm borrowing from a friend. How did people survive before these carriers were invented..what a brilliant idea!

Still nibbling on her Rome Beauty apple.

Whose that handsome little guy? My baby is growing up and looking more like a little boy which makes me kinda sad.

Andrew wasn't quite ready to eat the apples but I'm sure he'll be ready to eat them next year.
