Horseback Riding

Julia has liked horses for a while now and even has two American Girl horses that she got for her last birthday.  When we decided to go to New York Nana had a great idea of taking Julia horseback riding.  We didn't tell her until after she woke up that morning but she was so excited!  After we signed in we went outside and Julia saw where the horses were and ran towards them.  It was cute to see her excitement!

She went right up and started petting them.

Getting on her horse Ms. Dana.

Getting all situated.

Checking out her horse!  I don't think she can actually believe she's riding a real horse.

She's so excited!

Waiting for others in the group to get ready.

She's looking like a pro.

Off we go on the trail.

Taking a little stop while another horse went to the bathroom.  Julia was so funny and she kept asking me if Ms. Dana (her horse) went to the bathroom.

It was a nice day for horseback riding with a little breeze once in a while and not at all hot.  The trail was really nice as well.

Back after our hour long trail ride and waiting to dismount.

This cracks me up.  Trying to look at the horse instead of the camera.

Once we got back we could give our horse a treat.  Julia wasn't at all afraid of letting the horse eat the treat from her hand.

Me on the other hand wasn't all that interested so Julia fed mine a treat too.

She thought it was funny when they got the treat from your hand.

Great idea Nana had...Julia loved it and it was her favorite part of our trip to New York along with seeing everyone.

One last picture with her horse Ms. Dana and she's sneaking another peak at her.

One last look at the horses.  Glad it was a cooler day for them.

Thank you Nana for such a fun morning!  It was definitely a day Julia will always remember!
