American Girl Lunch

We had such a fun time going to lunch with Ava who is one of Julia's friends from ballet.  They've been in ballet together ever since they started at 2 years old.

Sweet Ava and her doll.

Such sweet girls.

Andrew enjoyed checking out his rocket blaster outside the very next day.  New toys are always so much fun!

Happy Easter

This year for Easter is was just the four of us and despite not celebrating with our extended families we had such a wonderful time together enjoying each other.  The morning started out with an egg hunt and of course searching for their baskets.  Lots of eggs were hidden this year and one was even under the table.

Since Julia hadn't found her basket yet she had a big collection on the table.

Andrew hit the jackpot when he looked behind the couch...not only did he find an egg but he also found his basket too.

Andrew was quick to look at the goodies in his basket but I managed to get one photo before it was all taken apart.

Putting all his eggs in his basket.

Off to find some more eggs.

It took a while but Julia finally found her basket behind the curtain.

She was so excited about getting the next book in a series we've been reading about fairies.

Andrew was very excited about his rocket blast-off toy he got in his Easter basket.

It's really an outside toy but we checked it out in the foyer to see how high it would go.

Julia and Andrew did great during church.  Of course we didn't get a seat and we were even in the lobby watching it on a TV but we made the best of it.

Back at home for some photos on the deck.

Love these two!

Sibling kiss!

These two are so sweet!

Being silly!

Another silly one!

And look at this silly face!

Family photo on the deck.  Such a busy and fun day together!

Family photo in our backyard.

Andrew got this little parachute man for going poop on the potty and Julia and Andrew loved having Daddy throw it up and try to catch it.

We're ready!

All smiles and ready to color eggs.

First egg she colored was pink of course.

Good balancing for Andrew!

Hard at work coloring eggs.

Wow, Julia looks so grown up in this picture.  Hope you had a blessed Easter and thought about all the things you're thankful for in your life...I know I did!

Egg Hunt at Julia's School

Julia and Grace all ready for the egg hunt at school despite it be a chilly day.

With all the eggs available Julia was quite determined to pick up only the pink ones at first until I told her to just pick up any before they were gone.  She still ended up with mostly pink eggs!

Julia and Grace with all their eggs!

It was so nice that Andrew could participate in the egg hunt too even though he doesn't go to school there yet.

Such happy girls!

The kids with their dads.  We love how Thomas works so close to Julia's school so he is able to take a little break from work to enjoy these special activities too.

Checking out what kind of treats she got on the egg hunt.

Heading back inside for a picnic lunch in the classroom since it was too windy outside.

Learning Time

I'm working with Andrew on holding a writing utensil correctly.  Look at how good he is doing!  Since he's a lefty I had to hold it in my left hand so I could make sure I was showing him correctly.  Definitely good form!

Happy to be using the highlighters.  It's the little things that make a difference to kids.

Julia was practicing writing the alphabet with capital and lowercase letters.  Her letter formation is great and she's been very receptive to constructive feedback on how to fix a few of her letters.  Way to go Julia!

Easter Party

A little girl who Julia became friends with in her speech class had an Easter Party and we all attended.  It was such a beautiful day and it was an awesome party filled with many activities and prizes.

First activity was an egg hunt with over 1000 eggs.

Of course Julia searched for the pretty pink ones.

Andrew is on the hunt for some great eggs too!

Love this pretty girl!

Love this handsome boy!

Andrew was so excited to find an army guy on the egg hunt.

Such fun times with these two!

Sisterly and brotherly love.

Looking through the eggs to see what surprises were inside.

Another activity was to pass the present and when the music stopped the person holding the gift got to keep it.  The game kept going until everyone got a gift.

It was kinda funny but both Julia and Andrew got the same prize.

Another activity was a raffle.  Amazingly Julia won the raffle and the prize was a huge chocolate bunny.

Then they did a cake walk with prizes too and Julia won an Easter potato head.

Andrew won a bat and a ball at the cake walk.

Julia and her friend Jennifer who she met in speech class.

Julia was so excited and in awe that she won the chocolate bunny.  She kept saying she couldn't believe she won.
