My Little Love Bug

I thought I would include a little update on Julia for those who don't get to see her on a daily basis. She is as sweet as ever and we're enjoying our time with her more and more everyday. Lately Julia has started asking 'why' questions which has been really fun as she explores the world around her. For example, the other day we pulled out of the driveway and she asked why a car was parked down the street since it's not normally parked there. She's quite observant and wants to know why things are the way they are. She is constantly asking why questions. Just today she asked why daddy was waxing the car and sometimes when you tell her why she'll even ask why to your response..it's pretty funny sometimes.

Julia is so helpful, the other day I was putting some things in the car and Julia was watching Andrew and she came running to the door and told me that Andrew spit up. It was a tiny little spit up but she was real concerned and wanted to make sure I knew about it and took care of it. Now she'll use the burp cloth to wipe Andrew's mouth if he spits up and helps out by putting dirty clothes in their laundry baskets. She's such a good helper!

Julia continues to love Elmo and enjoys watching him on TV along with Curious George. She also likes her baby and playing with her dolls. Julia really enjoys singing and has learned to sing some songs like Twinkle, Twinkle, Old MacDonald, ABC's, and of course Happy Birthday. She loves when I sing Hush Little Baby and a few other songs I made up when she was a little baby.

Lately Julia isn't all that interested in getting her picture taken but I love this one since it shows her big blue eyes. We're so lucky to be her parents and something reminds us of that everyday.

Publix Grocery Store Tour

On Monday our Mommy and Me playgroup headed to Publix Grocery Store for a tour. Andrew was ready to go on the tour as well.

The Baby Bjorn carrier that my friend is letting me use is really coming in hand as we're getting out and about more. It makes it much easier to keep Andrew happy and keep a watch on Julia.

On the tour they took out a lobster and showed it to the kids and even let them touch it if they wanted to. Of course Julia wanted nothing to do with the lobster.

The kids gathered around when it was time to sample some cantaloupe. They got to sample many other things like popcorn chicken, cake frosting, and cookies.

At the end of the tour they gave the kids a goodie bag and a balloon. Julia enjoyed looking through her goodie bag. Besides a coloring book, crayons, and stickers she also received goldfish and a fruit puree. Thanks Publix for doing such a great job!

Andrew - 2 months old

On Tuesday we had Andrew's 2 month check-up. He's growing and getting much bigger which makes perfect sense since he's eating every two hours during the day and every 2-4 hours at night. He weighed 12 pounds 9.5 ounces and was 23 1/4 inches long which puts him at the 75 percentile for both weight and height. It's a bit different with Andrew since it took Julia 7 months to get to the same weight as Andrew at only 2 months old. I knew Julia was little but now I'm realizing just how little she was her first year of life. Andrew is doing more interacting with us now and we're loving it! I absolutely love the big smile he gives you when you're playing with him! We're so lucky to have him as our son.

Puzzles Anyone?

Julia has always enjoyed doing puzzles just like her mommy. Lately she's been doing some puzzles which are a bit more challenging and she's doing great with them. When Julia first started learning her ABC's it was from doing an alphabet puzzle. Here she is working on puzzles to make words.

Today I gave Julia her first 12 piece puzzle and the first time she did it with very little help and the second time she did it all by herself. We're so proud of her and she's so proud of herself too! The next step will be a 24 piece puzzle. I'm so glad she enjoys puzzles, maybe we can do some 1000 piece puzzles together when she's grown up.

Holding Head

Andrew is such a strong little boy! He is so fascinated with the star from his play mat that lights up and plays music that I use it when he does tummy time. He just holds his head up and stares at it. If he's lying down on his play mat and it's playing above him then he smiles and talks to it...it's so cute! Funny enough but Julia absolutely loved the star too when she was a baby. It actually broke a few times and I always ran to Babies R Us to get a new one since it was her favorite, hopefully we don't have any trouble with this one. So far, so good! He's such a cutie and we're all enjoying the new things he's doing.
