Watching Dora the Explorer

Julia got a Dora doll for the bathtub from our neighbors for her birthday and she has really liked playing with it. I just looked up online and saw that Dora is on at 9:00 so for the past two days Julia has enjoyed watching it after breakfast. She's been quite interested in it since it's a new show for her. Don't you just love her chair as it's the perfect size for her?

Big Belly

This picture was taken on Sunday, my birthday, and I was almost 27 weeks. Things are going great and I have my next appointment on March 29th for another ultrasound. He's definitely moving around a bunch and I'm feeling lots of kicks...especially at night. Julia loves going into the baby's room and running around as we've been busy trying to get everything ready since we know we'll have little free time once he arrives. I'm hoping to make it at least 10 more weeks so I make it to June and then I'll be at 37 weeks which they consider full-term. It's kinda scary when they are born before that as in Julia's case at 36 weeks. We're still trying to decide on a name for our little boy.

Muffins

Last week Julia and I made muffins. She put all the liners in the muffin pan and enjoyed stirring. She really likes to eat muffins for breakfast and I had so much fun making them with her. I'm lucky to be able to have the time to do things like this with her. What fun!

Mommy & Me Outing

Julia and I are part of a Mommy & Me Outing that meets up once a week. I've met some great ladies from this group and Julia has made lots of nice friends too. Yesterday we went to Imaginations at Play and had lots of fun. Julia enjoyed playing at the sand table and filling up cups with lots of sand.

Julia and Cole (a friend's son) had fun at the water station. This was definitely Julia's favorite place to play. She probably would have stayed there the whole time if I let her but her shirt was getting wet. Good thing they had a hand dryer in the bathroom that I used to get her shirt dry.

She also had a good time giving the monkey a bath. I love getting to do these kinds of things with Julia and we've got to check out many new things for kids around Atlanta while meeting new people too! I almost forgot to mention about the band aid on Julia's forehead...on Saturday night we were at a friend's house and she fell and hit the corner of a wall. We're keeping Neosporin and a band aid on it so it hopefully doesn't leave a scar.

Daddy's Work is Done

Well his work may not be completely done since I'll be asking him to hang things up but at least it won't be as time consuming at getting this part of the room ready. He spent the majority of the day working in the nursery to finish up the room. He started off by taping everything...

then he moved on to cutting in...

and finally rolling it.

The final product came out awesome and we're so happy with how it looks. It looks great just like Julia's room. Once Julia's new furniture comes in we'll start moving her dresser and nightstand in so I can start getting some things organized. We still have to find things for the walls and get it decorated but we still have time since Boy Boy Brown isn't due until June 21st. I'm sure Thomas is excited that it's all done!

Big Girl

My little girl is growing up so quickly and it kinda makes me sad. It's exciting watching her do new things but sad as well. She was excited when she drank out of a cup last night at dinner all by herself and she said, 'I did it.' She went to clap her hands and she knocked the cup over and Thomas caught it but not before the water spilled. I'm sure there will be many more spills but she was very proud of herself. Way to go Julia, we're proud of you too!

Which Blue?

This past weekend Thomas finished the bottom half of the nursery for our little boy and now we're trying to decide on the perfect blue color. The room is looking good and soon enough I'll be working in there to get it decorated for our little guy. Only 3 1/2 months until we meet our new little one.

We thought picking out a blue would be easier than picking out a pink color but that hasn't been the case. With Julia's room I think we only got one sample and we loved it. The color was called 'Baby Pink' which made picking out the color real easy. We're having a harder time with the blue but we think we may have decided on a color. Maybe next weekend the room will get painted. The first color Julia knew was blue so she's definitely a fan of us painting the room blue. It's hard to see the true colors in this photo but it looks like we're going with the second color (which looks a little purple in the photo) which is called 'Windmill Wings' and it matches the blue sheets I got for his crib. We really like the third color but not for a baby's room, the first one is quite bright in person, and the last one is really light or as Thomas calls it 'Labatt's Light Blue.'
