4th of July

We hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend...we sure did! We've lived in Georgia for 12 years now and we've never gone to the 4th of July parade in Cumming. This year we decided to check it out and be patriotic. It's a steam engine parade and the people in the wagons on the back of the steam engines throw candy at the crowds. Julia got her first taste of candy which was Nerds. What better way to celebrate America!

We moved back from the parade a little bit because when the steam engines release steam it goes through a whistle and it's so loud. In years past we can hear them at our house. We tried putting ear plugs in Julia's ears but she wouldn't keep them in..she tried eating them instead.

We're all set up and ready for the fireworks!

Julia enjoyed walking around and playing with her bracelets that glow in the dark while waiting for the fireworks to start. Her shirt says 'happy 4th.'

Gotta love her facial expression from seeing something new. She really enjoyed the fireworks and wasn't scared at all.

Daddy and Julia watching the fireworks show. Don't you just love her hand under her chin...she does that every now and then, it's so cute.

Daddy enjoyed watching Julia watch the fireworks. She definitely liked them! Last year at this time we were doing the overnight drive from the Outer Banks and Julia was woken up by fireworks in some small town in North Carolina. This year she managed to stay awake until 10:45 and wasn't grumpy at all. Now she's taking a long nap...so far it's been about 3 hours.

  1. I love all the 4th festivities you guys participated in. I especially love Julia's white eyelit shirt she had on at the parade and of course the 4th t-shirt. The picture with her hand resting under her chin is the greatest. Happy 4th!!!!!
