Adding and Subtracting

Andrew was playing a game on the IPAD and was figuring out a math problem.  I asked him if he liked math and he said yes.  I asked him if he wanted to do more math problems and he said yes.  Such a teachable moment so I jumped at the chance to work on math with him and made up some problems for him to figure out.  He did so well and loved it!

He looks so cute using his fingers and counting to figure out the problem...I just couldn't resist taking some photos.

My little boy is growing up and adding and subtracting.  Time flies!  So proud of him!

Watching Basketball

Thomas was sitting on a stool watching the game and Andrew grabbed a stool and went right next to him...so sweet!  He sure loves his Daddy.  Maybe next year they'll go see a Syracuse game if they are in town again.

Grateful

Have you ever been going about doing things and something you saw or thought of stopped you in your tracks?  On Sunday I was busy doing laundry and some cleaning and I saw Andrew's monster truck lying on the bed and I stopped and thought how lucky I was to be a mom.  I'm grateful to be busy doing laundry for a family I love and yes I'm very thankful to have toys lying around to pick up.  My heart is full and I'm so grateful for my life.

Andrew and Mommy Date Night

Since Julia and Daddy went to the Father/Daughter Dance I decided to take Andrew on a date to see Star Wars The Force Awakens.  Santa brought Andrew the Star Wars DVD's along with some fun toys and he's been a fan ever since.

Such a fun time seeing the newest Star Wars with my little guy.

Father/Daughter Dance

The father daughter dance is always the sweetest night of the year.  I love how Julia's school puts on this event each year since it is something we all look forward to.  Julia had a blast last year and was excited about the dance again.  Last year it was held at the school but this year it was at a Golf County Club which was much nicer.  The father daughter dance and dates with her Daddy are teaching her how a man should treat her so when she gets older if someone doesn't treat her with kindness and respect she will know to kick them to the curb.  LOL

Julia and Daddy ready to go and both looking good!

Sweet little girl but definitely looking more grown up to me.

Morning Hugs

Early morning hugs before school are the best!  Andrew use to wake up around 7:00 and see Julia for a few minutes before we were about to walk out the door.  However, now he usually sleeps until 7:45 or later so he doesn't see her in the morning.  Love these moments when they show how much they love one another.

Valentine's Day

The kids were sad about me wanting to throw away their Valentine boxes so I told them I would take a photo of them so we still have the memory.  Andrew was proud of the hearts he cut out and how the face looks like him.  He made his at school with his class.

Another one of my valentines.  Julia made her box at home for homework.  Hope you enjoyed your Valentine's Day!

Julia's Birthday Party

After much discussion we decided to celebrate Julia's birthday at home with some of her closest friends with a Shopkins party...yes a Shopkins party!  Julia got some Shopkins for Christmas and really got into them hence it worked out perfectly for a birthday theme.  We decided to play a few games along with snack/cake and open presents.  It all went well and the kids had fun!

Table set up for 10 girls.

Upon arrival we had some Shopkin coloring sheets while waiting for everyone to arrive.

Andrew has been enjoying the Shopkins too!

The first game we played was pass the present.  When the music stopped whoever was holding it got to open the present.  Addison was the first to open the present.

There were presents wrapped inside presents and every girl got a gift which was two shopkins.

Haleigh's turn to see what two Shopkins she got.

Alison wore such an appropriate shirt for the party...Shopkins.

Julia chance to see what Shopkins she got.  We actually had a pinata and played Bingo where they won two more Shopkins but I was too busy and no photos got taken.  After Bingo the girls got a chance to trade with others if they wanted.

I absolutely love the cookie cakes from Publix.  They are delicious!

Hard to believe she's blowing out a #7 candle!

We also did a photo booth too which was fun!

The photo booth prop matches Alison's shirt.

Another photo booth shot.

Addison is in Julia's first grade class this year.

I wonder what little cutie is behind that cookie.

Present time!  Julia is somewhere behind the tissue paper.

Julia got lots of great presents from her friends.  Two new Beanie Boos were inside that bag which she loved.

She was quite excited about her new purse with the letter J on it.  Thank you to all her friends for coming and spending time with us as we celebrated Julia.  She had so much fun with her best friends!
