This past Saturday we had Julia's birthday party with her friends and the theme this year was of course Elmo. Thomas and I decorated the night before and this was Julia's reaction when she came down in the morning. She was quite excited to see all the Elmo 'stuff.'
Again we ordered a cookie cake since they are so good. Julia picked out the Big Bird and Elmo car that's on the top. It was between an airplane and the car and of course she picked the car. On the right you can even see her Elmo candle a little which she thought was really cute!
Here's a picture of the Elmo game that the kids played. They had to put their orange nose sticker on the Elmo nose on the poster. Two kids were very close but the other four were way off. It thought it was so easy but apparently I was wrong. Julia put her sticker right on top of another girl on the right side. The actual directions say to blindfold them but they are still so little who knows where the stickers would have ended up.
Caroline and Scout enjoying some cookie cake and wearing their Elmo party hats.
Julia and Natalie are too busy eating their cake to even look at the camera.
I managed to get a picture of Julia looking at the camera. She enjoyed her cookie cake and didn't get messy this year unlike last year.
We decided to keep with the Radio Flyer birthday present theme and we got Julia this tricycle. It's perfect for mommy and daddy too since it has a tall handle in the back that we can use to steer and a huge added bonus is that we don't have to bend over while helping her. Julia was quite happy riding her new bike and the other kids enjoyed a ride too.
Julia actually opened one of the cards too.
Family photo after everyone left since we forgot to take one during the party. Mommy and daddy with our little 2 year old. I almost forgot to mention that it was such a beautiful day with the temperature around 66 degrees and sunny blue skies. In the afternoon Julia enjoyed some time playing outside on her swing, her wagon, and of course her new bike.

Julia Turns Two 1/26/11
Hard to believe but true...Julia is now 2 years old. Everyone was right when they said it goes by fast. She's no longer my little baby but now my little girl and it's a bit sad. That being said, we're having loads of fun. Julia's baby got a new outfit from Nana and Papa and now Julia says, "New Clothes."
Julia and daddy are drawing on the new easel from Ikea which was only $20. She loves to color on it with her new markers. This was going to be a Christmas present but she got tons of things for Christmas so we saved it for her birthday instead.
I made Julia cupcakes for her birthday and we all had one to celebrate Julia turning 2. She really liked her Elmo candle on top!
Julia was a bit in awe over the flame and she even managed to blow it out...I doubt she made a wish but I made one for her.
The cupcakes were yummy! Julia ate almost her whole cupcake. Of course she ate the icing first.
Once she was done with the cupcake daddy even gave her a little spoonful of icing.
Julia is enjoying her new table and chairs from Grandma. After her party this weekend we'll move it to the playroom.

First Visit with Alexander
Our visit to Texas to see Alexander was great! Aunt Kimberly and Julia Kimberly are having fun being silly.
Little Alexander loved sleeping on his daddy's chest.
Close up! Doesn't the little sleepy guy look so cute?
Julia is showing Alexander her Elmo but he doesn't seem all that interested at this point but maybe someday soon he'll like Elmo just like his cousin Julia.
Alexander is happy in the swing and looks so much like Brad.
We had lots of fun holding Alexander and playing with him. If Alexander cried Julia said that he was saying "Mommy, mommy" and even used a little bit of a baby voice. I must say it was pretty cute and very funny.
Julia loved Alexander. It was so cute to see her on her tiptoes looking at him in the pack and play.
Julia is playing and Alexander is watching. Soon enough he'll be playing right along with her and I know she'll really love that when it happens.
Little cutie after he got done eating.
We brought along Julia's dolls and she loved playing with them as always.
Aunt Kim and her little guy with the cute guitar outfit.

Two Snow Days=Work in Nursery
Sunday night it started snowing and didn't stop. Many things were closed on Monday and Tuesday including Thomas' office. His office has never closed down for two days in a row due to weather and we've been here since 1998. A local grocery store even closed at 4pm on Monday afternoon. We ventured outside but no sledding this year since Julia was ready to go back inside...it was sleeting and quite windy so nothing like last year. However, we still managed to take one picture of her all bundled up. Julia enjoyed looking at the snow out the window and watching the kids across the street sled down their driveway.
The two snow days gave Thomas the perfect opportunity to work on the nursery for the new baby. Of course Julia wanted to help out again! She really likes that level. :)
Although there's still a lot of work to be done the molding is up. Thomas worked hard these last two days and it looks great! Now it's time to putty the nail holes, sand, prime, and then paint. The bottom will be white like Julia's room and then the top will be purple or blue depending on if it's a girl or a boy.

Where's Julia?
Julia sometimes likes to hide in the pantry and giggle. It's so funny to watch her close the door and hide in there. Today I was actually able to catch it on video. She's so funny when she's hiding because she'll sometimes just stand in the middle of the room and cover her eyes and since she can't see you she thinks you can't see her...it's just so cute! We've played hide-and-seek and now she'll actually hide behind something like a chair where you can't see her.
Yummy
I haven't downloaded our videos in a while but I finally got around to it today. This one was so cute of Julia eating an anise Christmas cookie which happens to be my favorite cookie as well. Before this holiday season she had no idea what a cookie even was but that all changed with Christmas this year. This was the first kind of cookie she's had and she loved them. It was too cute not to share with others. Enjoy!

Daddy's Little Helper
This past weekend Thomas started working on the nursery for our newest family member who arrives in June. Last night he started putting up the baseboard and Julia decided she would be a good helper. Thomas says this nursery shouldn't take as long but with Julia as a helper I'm sure it will take twice as long. She really enjoyed the safety glasses and all the tools. Julia's really excited about the new baby and knows whose room it's going to be. She's been really cute and gives my belly a hug and says 'hi' baby. I think she's going to be a great big sister.
Thomas decided it was time to get back to work and it was so funny but Julia just did exactly what daddy did. Doesn't she look focused on her work...just like her daddy?
Thomas put down the level and went to get another tool and Julia just picked it up and started working...it was pretty funny! She wants to make sure everything is nice and straight. It may take longer to get this room complete but with Julia's help it will be much more fun!
